It’s giveaway time! An exciting cookbook giveaway and recipe to share with you today. Are you excited?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you are well familiar with Emily von Euw of This Rawsome Vegan Life. Her 1st cookbook, Rawsome Vegan Baking, released last March and was a raging success. Now she is back with another one, 100 Best Juices, Smoothies and Healthy Snacks. They are all incredibly simple recipes with few ingredients. Right up my alley. Her 2nd cookbook focuses on juices, smoothies, soups, snacks and treats….both sweet and savory. There is something for everybody and they are all so beautifully photographed.
I’m a huge fan of Emily. She is talented, beautiful, kind and writes some fantastic recipes. You don’t have to be a raw food lover to enjoy them either. You just need working tastebuds!
Today, out of Emily’s amazing book, I’m sharing with you her “Green Earth Orbs ” recipe. They are just as they sound too. They have an earthy flavor, with a wonderful nutty tone and are not overly sweet. Perfect, healthy and filling.
Or if you prefer cinnamon……which just so happens to be my favorite flavor on the planet….
This recipe is from 100 Best Juices, Smoothies and Healthy Snacks by Emily von Euw.

GREEN EARTH ORBS (Makes 15 orbs)
From Emily: “These orbs have a delicious, deep nutty flavor and are positively packed with healthy nuts and seeds that will make your skin glow and your body sing!”
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1 cup pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 cup chia seeds
- 1 cup pitted dates
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (I’m a cinnamon-holic, so I added a lot more!)
Directions:
Pulse the nuts and seeds into powder in a food processor, then add the rest of the ingredients and process until it all begins to stick together. Try rolling a small handful into a ball. If it works, roll the rest of the mixture into balls. If it is still too crumbly, add more coconut oil or dates. Roll the balls in coconut and cinnamon for extra flavor and nutrition.

I would actually like to try a raw cheesecake or raw Apple “pie” …YUMMY!!!!
Can’t wait to try this. It sounds perfect for a little snack. Yum
I would like to try making a raw crepe <3
I really want to try Emily’s mint nanimo bars! They are in her first cookbook and they look dreamy…
This is a great giveaway. I am fairly new to your site and am enjoying it!
Thank you so much Kelly!
Emily’s recipes are far from what her name suggests….not “euw” at all! Her ‘tude and ability to crank out recipes almost daily is so insane.
The local vegan cafe in my hometown once had these giant raw coconut peanut butter chocolate topped cups. HOLY (NO) COW! I’m so happy my mom bought me 3! I have one siting in the back of the freezer; gotta save it as it’s my last one!
Not having a working blender right now is killing me
I need to have these orbs very soon! I am certain they will be my favorite raw food. Otherwise, so far, it’s almond butter-oat-nut balls.
Anything with dates and nuts, and especially if they’re still identifiable as such. Really, I could just stick a cashew in a date and be happy!
I’m really trying to up my raw foods so I want ALL the smoothie recipes!
I love trying new recipes
raw date & nut balls are soon good, i’ve tried them with unsweetened cocoa powder, tastes just like brownies! LOVE THEM
I LOVE raw desserts of any kind. I think these orbs would be great because they’re bite-sized and not too difficult to make!
My favorite raw dessert is peppermint bark (made with coconut butter)! Delicious!
I love raw bars! I would like to try making a cashew yogurt. And finding something other than bananas to make vegan ice cream, but not a sorbet. There has to be something else other than bananas!
Haha, agree! Can’t stand bananas!
Looks great! I need to buy her Rawsome Vegan Baking cookbook! I just got Angela’s Oh She Glows cookbook, Chocolate Covered Katie’s Cookbook, and one other. 🙂
I love raw snack balls and raw ice cream bars! I just got a new Vitamix, so I would love to be able to try these recipes out in it!
My favorite raw dessert? Gosh, that’s a tough one! I really like making bite sized balls or squares made of oats, nuts, and raisins/cranberries/dates. They are a yummy little snack to grab & go or to top a smoothie bowl with! I once made Emily’s raw cheesecake with cashew frosting and it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.
I would love to see more raw desserts that are not sweetened with dates. For some reason I find dates so difficult to use!
Thank you for the chance to win this cookbook – I love Emily’s blog 🙂
Michelle-look at my “raw” recipes under my Recipe Index….all of my raw recipes are made without dates, because like you, I’m not a big fan of them. I make all my raw recipes with maple syrup.
Ibwant to try making raw brownies! I have seen a lot of yummy looking recipes for them!
I would love to try some kind of raw chocolate cake. I’ve seen recipes but haven’t tried any yet.
I’d love to make a raw cashew cheesecake!
I have Vitamix so this book is right up my alley, yum!!
